Capacity building training workshop has started on 20 November 2023 at the University of Freiburg, Germany

Two weeks capacity building activities/training workshop has started on 20 November 2023 at the University of Freiburg, Germany under the ”Erasmus+ Higher Education Cooperation for Forest Landscape Restoration and Sustainable Livelihoods in Bangladesh and Vietnam (FORSU)” project. First week training will take place at the University of Freiburg, Germany from November 20-24, 2023, and second week training will be held at the University of Helsinki, Finland from November 27-December 1, 2023. The main purpose of the training workshop is to build up the FORSU partner’s university faculty members, to support North-South-South cooperation, and exchange to improve the quality and availability of teaching and training capacity while promoting regional and international networking and exchange of staff in the field of Forest Landscape Restoration. The FORSU partners are from Bangladesh (Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU), and Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), Vietnam (Tay Nguyen University-TNU, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry-TUAF, Hue University), the University of Freiburg (UF), Germany, and the University of Helsinki (UH), Finland. In total, 10 participants (2 from each institution of RMSTU, PSTU, TNU, TUAF, and UF) attended the first day (20 November 2023) training session, and participants learned about teaching and learning principles, introduction of the training workshop, and field visit. Dr. Lisa Hüther-Pape, Dipl. Psych from the University of Freiburg, facilitated the training session. Dr. Roderich von Detten and Dr. Dietrich from the University of Freiburg, Germany provided the introductory speech in the morning session. In addition to these, Chair of the Department of Forestry Economics and Forest Planning Prof. Dr. Marc Hanewinkel inaugurated the training session. During the training session in Freiburg, each partner will develop at least one course curriculum that will be incorporated for B.Sc. (Honors) course. The project is Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
