Weeklong capacity-building training started at the University of Helsinki, Finland on 27 November 2023 under the FORSU project

A five-day capacity building and exchange visit was organized on 27 November 2023 at the University of Helsinki, Finland under the ”Erasmus+ Higher Education Cooperation for Forest Landscape Restoration and Sustainable Livelihoods in Bangladesh and Vietnam (FORSU)” project. This time, eight participants attended the training program from FORSU partners in Bangladesh (Rangamati Science and Technology University, and Patuakhali Science and Technology University, and in Vietnam (Tay Nguyen University, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry). The University of Helsinki, Finland is the host of the training programme from November 27 to December 1, 2023.

At the morning session, Mr. Dipjoy Chakma, coordinator of the FORSU project from the University of Helsinki briefed about the training session, objectives, and expected outcome. Professor Edward Layman Webb, Department of Forest Sciences, Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS), and Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI) provided the welcome speech before starting the training session. During the daylong session, participants learned about academic writing style, did practical exercises on writing, and practiced online and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for writing purposes. Mr. Roy Siddall from the University of Helsinki Language Centre was the resource person for the 1st day session. The training session will end on 1 December 2023. The FORSU project is Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
