Previous affiliations were with University of Central Asia, Kunming Institute of Botany of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in China, Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, and South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University, Germany. Spanning 40 years of research experience in Asia, his research interests include forest-farming interactions, multifunctional landscapes, integrated land use systems, and land use change and livelihoods in mountains. He is currently the director of IREN, a senior lecturer in Hue University, a visiting lecturer of Cologne University of Applied Science, Germany and Okayama University, Japan. His work focuses specifically on climate change, rural development, tropical silviculture, forest ecology, application of GIS and RS in natural resources and environmental management, and social networking and communication. Hoang has over 20-year experience worked as the leader and coordinator of various projects relating to climate change, capacity building, livelihood enhancement, ecosystem-based adaptation, and natural resources conservation and management at regional and global scales. |

Dr. Dinh Tien Tai received his Ph.D in Plant Ecology from Okayama University, Japan. He is currently working as a researcher in Institute of Resources and Environment (IREN), Hue University. He has over 10 years of working experience in ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation and forestry projects. His researches focus on forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, applied biostatistics and GIS and RS application in natural resources and environmental management. He has experience in experimental design, data analysis, and project evaluation. He has a good ability in working with local people and other stakeholders in ecological, biodiversity and forestry projects and a good skill in data analysis and visualization with R and Python. |

Dr. Mai got B.Sc. in Silviculture in 1996 from Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF). Then she was pointed out as a lecturer at HUAF in the same year. In 1999, she started her master's degree at Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines), where she received her Master of Science in Social Development in 2001. In 2010, she enrolled in Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen (Germany) for her doctoral study and successfully graduated with a Ph.D. in natural resource management in 2015. Dr. Suprio Chakma has over 16 years’ experiences of coordinating field work and implementing different projects in the biodiversity conservation sector. He has completed his PhD on Large Mammals of the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh with emphasis on Tiger (Panthera Tigris ) from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biological Science and Chairman of the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science in RMSTU where he joined in 2020. Before joining RMSTU, Dr. Chakma worked for Wildlife Conservation Society, a world leading conservation NGO as Marine Megafauna Program Manager. Keen on herpetology later turned in large mammals study; expertise in wildlife study design, survey, data analysis and technical report writing. He has experiences of manging donor funds such as USFWS and USAID.
